When does my session time start?
Session time begins once we are at the photo location and I start shooting. Out here it can take 10 to 20 minutes to get from the entrance of the park to the actual spot, and I do not count that against your time. Your full hour or hour and a half is spent with the camera in hand.
What if the weather does not cooperate?
West Texas weather can be unpredictable. If conditions are not safe or comfortable, we will reschedule for the soonest date that works for both of us.
How do I book?
To get started, please email me or send me a message, and I’ll guide you through the simple booking process. A $50 retainer secures your date and is applied toward your total. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
Can I get more than 15 photos?
Yes, you can absolutely purchase additional photos. Each extra image is $15, or you can get 10 additional photos for $100. If you're interested in more, just let me know!
Do you help with what to wear?
Yes, absolutely! Neutrals, earthy tones, and soft colors tend to photograph beautifully in most settings. I also provide a style guide with helpful tips to make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and camera ready, no matter the location.
What happens if my kids do not cooperate?
That is perfectly fine. I build in time for kids to warm up, explore, and be themselves. Some of the best images come from those in-between moments, not the posed ones.
What if we are running late?
Life happens. I ask that you let me know as soon as possible if you are running behind. Sessions cannot always be extended if other bookings are scheduled, but I will do my best to work with the time we have and keep things relaxed.
Can we bring pets?
Yes. Pets are welcome as long as they are allowed in the location we choose. Bring a leash, water, and a favorite toy or treat to keep them happy during the session.
Do you edit all of the photos?
Yes. Every photo you receive is hand-edited in my style. I do not deliver raw or unedited images.
Can we change outfits during the session?
Yes. For individuals and couples, one outfit change is welcome and adds a nice variety. For family sessions, I recommend keeping outfits simple and staying in one look so the session flows naturally without interruptions.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
Your gallery will be ready within two to three weeks. I will send you a link to your private online gallery where you can download your images.
Do you help choose the location?
Absolutely. I know the area and surrounding locations well, including local parks, desert trails, and mountain views. Whether you're going for something scenic, cozy, or adventurous, I can suggest spots that match the look and feel you’re after. Together, we’ll find the perfect location for your session.
How many people can be included in a family session?
Family sessions are designed for immediate family. If you want to include extended family, please reach out and we can create a custom package to make sure we have enough time and space for everyone.
Do you offer mini sessions?
From time to time I will announce special mini session days. These are shorter sessions at a set location and are a great option if you only need a few photos. Keep an eye on my social media for updates.
Do I need a permit for photos in the parks?
For personal portrait sessions, park entry fees are typically all you need to cover. If a permit is required for a larger group or specific location, I’ll let you know in advance so there are no surprises.
Can I bring props or special items?
Yes. Simple props like blankets, hats, or a family heirloom can add a personal touch. If you are considering something larger, let me know in advance so we can plan for it.
What time of day is best for photos?
The best light is usually in the early morning or about an hour before sunset, when the desert glow is at its softest and most flattering. Midday sun can be harsh, so I plan sessions around the best possible light.
Do you travel outside your area?
Most of my sessions take place locally or in the surrounding parks. For sessions beyond my area, a mileage fee applies round trip. If you are not sure whether your location qualifies, just ask.
What if we need to reschedule?
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, just let me know as soon as possible. Your retainer is non-refundable, but it can be applied to a new date within a set timeframe.
If you have a question I didn’t cover here, just ask. I’m always happy to help. The goal is for you to feel comfortable, prepared, and excited for your session. When you’re ready, let’s set a date and make some magic out here in the desert.
